just some basic information of tamaki suou

Tamaki Suou is introduced in the first chapter of the manga and the first episode in the anime; he is the prince type and 'king' of the host club. Tamaki isn’t your average man, he has a really interesting personality that I can babble on and on about for hours. Tamaki is also a very dedicated and devoted young man, he doesn’t have the title ‘King of the host club’ for no reason at all, his request rate is highest out of all the hosts. Tamaki entertains his quests with cheesy lines and over the top romance, but all the same it makes the girls go insane over him. Combining all his cheesy romance and his absolutely gorgeous look, he becomes even more popular. Tamaki has blonde hair and violet eyes. (what a combination!) Though Tamaki may seem like a babbling idiot who is completely 'conceded' at times with a huge ego, he is actually very intelligent, placing second in his class(behind Kyouya), and cares about his friends more than anything in the world and wants to help everyone he can.

Tamaki isn't your average guy, like stated earlier; he has such a kind heart that can make any grown man cry. Tamaki is obviously in love with himself, but he truly does think of others before himself and does everything in his power to make them happy. Other moments of him out of character would have to be the pond scene he shares with Haruhi. Tamaki just jumps in the pond to help her find her wallet after it seemingly ‘fell’ into the pond. Tamaki shows a softer more relaxed side, carefree and easy going something we don’t get to see too often, but it does happen every now and then. Of course Tamaki couldn’t help but throw in his egotistic little comments.

Some of Tamaki’s favorite foods are, commoner’s ramen, commoner’s candy, commoner’s coffee, and well all around commoner’s food. All introduced to him by Haruhi Fujioka, the girl who is slowly the one to broaden his horizons. Tamaki has quite a few names others call him, which consists of; Tono, King, Boss, Tama-Chan, Tamaki-Sempai, and well lets just face it, idiot. To me Tamaki can be quite daring and courageous, in the manga he pulls some 'stunts' that require quite a lot of courage. I suppose you can say, he truly is prince charming.

Tamaki has two names, Suou and Rene Tamaki Richard Grantaine as revealed in chapter chapter 55. The name Suou can be translated to "rightfully becoming king" or "to become a king"(from wikipedia), and this name fits him very well since his personality matches perfectly. Tamaki knows he's good looking and openly calls himself king.

In the english VIZ Media verision of the manga Tamaki's last name is changed to Suoh, his original Japanese name is Suou though. Both names are widely known, if you haven't guessed by now I perfer the Japanese way(Suou).
