Tamaki’s father married a woman, who he most likely held no feelings for, he then ventured to France where he met Tamaki’s mother. The two feel deeply in love and had an affair and as a result Tamaki was born. Tamaki’s father, Yurzuru Suou, wanted nothing more but to marry Tamaki’s mother so he went back to Japan to divorce his current wife. When he asked for a divorce, those plans were thrown out the window by non other than Tamaki’s grandma which is Yurzuru's own mother. Tamaki’s mother was very weak and sickly so she moved back to France taking her son with her, she took care of him until he was 14.

During his times in France, Tamaki would play the piano for his mother to entertain her; he loved her with all his heart. When Tamaki’s mother was thrust into debt an agreement was set to send Tamaki to Japan, to his father to become his heir, and pay off all her debt. Although as a result she would never be allowed to speak to him ever again. Tamaki loved his mother more than anything, so he decided to go to Japan for her sake. Now he was to never see her again, and things didn't get better when he came to Japan. Tamaki wasn't allowed in the main house by his grandmother, so he had to live in the second house by him self.

Even through all this Tamaki grew up to become a great person who is immensely caring and kind with a big heart. The complete opposite of that thing Tamaki calls Grandmother. On top of everything his Grandmother has done to Tamaki, she decides to not let him live with his own father and her. She says, he must first change him self. I personally don't get why he has to change, sure Tamaki never showed much interest in becoming the heir of the Suou company but Tamaki is a fantastic person and his devil grandmother can drop dead.

It's stated maybe once or twice in the manga that Tamaki's father loves him very much, and in some chapters it has shown Yurzuru playing along with Tamaki's childish ways. As well as Yurzuru holding a child Tamaki, but to me how can a father truly love his only son if he allowed Tamaki to live by himself in a separate house? Of course Tamaki lives with his teacher, maids, and his dog Antoinette, but still staying away from your child just because an old women said so, and he also allowed Tamaki to never speak to his mother again. Although Tamaki’s family is really complicated and stressful, he is such a happy carefree guy. This is one of the many reasons Tamaki is my favorite character ever created.
